where are you ? we paid £360 in Luton for a end of terrace 3 bedNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

I'm paying 480 for a full building survey, 3 bed terrace, west mids.
Yours sounds expensive, but depends on area0

We're paying £390 incl VAT for a Homebuyers on a large 5-bed detached. We're in Essex though - if you're in London it might be reasonable.
Have you confused the surveyor by mentioning Buildings Survey? "Full structural" as a title doesn't exist any more. The options are:- "valuation",
- "Homebuyers Report" or "Condition Report" (a condition report is simply a Homebuyers without the valuation figure or rebuild cost - slightly cheaper option if you want a Homebuyers and your lender is separately doing the valuation part)
- "Buildings Survey"

Maybe they thought you meant the top one, which replaced 'full structural'?0

We paid £490 on a 3 bed terrace in Manchester 1900 house x0

We've been given quotes ranging from £675 - £1150 (+VAT) for a two bedroom flat. However, we are in London zone 1/2 border.0

When you say buildings survey, do you mean a Homebuyers report? If not & it actually is a full building survey, then it sounds a great bargain. I paid close to £900 for a full building survey on the last house I bought about 4.5yrs ago now.
The homebuyer's report on the flat I recently moved into was around the £350 mark. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0

I think full structural survey in London cost £800 - mortgage company chipped in £500 of that.0

It would be helpful if the OP could clarify;-
 location
 purchase price
separate survey, or part of mortgage lender valuation inspection.
Then we'd have a bit more to go on...I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. location is south west England (not London)
 price £250k
its for a building survey, which I have taken to mean a structural survey.
