Morning all,
A bit of drizzle but the sun is coming out
I've done the ironing and cleaned the filter in the WM and put it on a boil wash with soda to help clean the gunky build up. I hate doing it because it's a 2 hour wash and I think of all the electric and water its costing me!
DH is home this morning, fitting an additional radiator on our top landing, I don't think we need it but now he has lost weight he feels the cold (poor thing).
Cooked a chicken in the slow cooker yesterday, so we have leftover chicken for tea tonight. Probably in a Curry.
Enjoy the day people0 -
Morning all,
getting ready to visit DD & SIL tomorrow, a few nights away will be nice. Did some present wrapping ready to take up too.
Battery on this laptop isn't holding the charge so needs to be replaced - about £20 so isn't too bad.
Julie - fingers crossed for Monday xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning all
Dh is at home today so let me have a lie in, couldnt believe it when I looked at the clock at 9am, I never normally sleep in past 6:30 so must have needed those extra few hours.
Its dull and miserable here today, not been out yet but DH say's it doesn't feel so cold, which is good cos its animal cleaning out day today for dh, we normally do it every weekend but him being home he said he would get on with it today.
I managed to declutter and clean pantry, kitchen cupboards, downstairs loo and outhouse yesterday, got rid of a good few bags of rubbish, it looks so much better so going to tackle the dining room, under the stairs, and the shoe cupboards.
Lamb stew cooking in the slow cooker, ready for dinner tonight.
Tru... I cannot stand dentists either, hope your feeling better soon x
Hope you all have a lovely day. xG.C July £21.09/£1000 -
Morning all,
another cold but bright day here. Hubby came home last night all flu'd up but against my better judgement he's gone back to work. I told him it would have been better if he'd stayed there and put himself to bed instead of driving 80 miles back home to drive 80 miles back to the job and 80 miles back again tonight. I cant tell him anything. He muttered something about 'mains, isolator switches and being rushed off his feet'
Off out tonight on another reunion. I'm looking forward to it.
Tru, so glad your ordeal is over now.
Steak for tea though I dont suppose hubby will be home till late.

Hi everyone,
Tru, you shouldn't compare with others, especially Lucy at Attic24 - her stuff is amazing. I know that's easy tos say but it doesn't stop me looking at beautiful free motion quilting and being dissatisfied with what I produce.
DH is "working" from home but keeps getting distracted so I have to tell him to get on with it, I don't want him working all weekend to make up the time, especially as we have visitors coming this afternoon. They are bringing some dining chairs that we have been given, I think I might paint them as they are solid pine.0 -
Does anyone have any ideas why a little dog would suddenly begin growling and snarling at my cousins son. She has three boys 20, 17 and 13. Alfie has been with the family for about a year since their last dog died aged 17. They are real animal lovers and he has a lovely home. All three boys are lovely and especially the eldest who is a lovely quiet lad. He gets along famously with everyone else but in the last few weeks has taken a dislike to the eldest. Alfie is a jack Russell cross. The only thing I can think is the lad is very tall, but he has always been tall any ideas?? I promised I would ask

(sorry, I can't call to mind how to do nice tidy links) and see if there's any helpful info.
:idea:Has the son started using a different aftershave/soap/deodorant recently? Dogs are scent-oriented, and if he's using the same product that someone used who was unkind to Alfie in the past, that would possibly unlock bad memories. Just a thought.:o
Tru you rest up, lass. Having someone poke about in your mouth is unpleasant any way you cut it, and if you're particularly dentist-phobic, it's worse to the power of 10.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all
It has been dry and sunny here, so I have spent all day tackling mount washmore and I still have two more machine loads to do  that can wait until tomorrow, both washing lines are full.
We popped down to the market and got some fruit and veg, then when we got back DH chopped some logs for tonight. He is going to start building the wood and coal store at the weekend, weather permitting.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Evening all
Well I'm beyond tired & probably beyond exhausted too.
Hubby's phone rang a 23:15, security company to say an alarm was going off at work & they couldn't get there. Hubby & I got up & dressed, drove to work, searched the site, no sign of a break in, phoned security company & reset the alarm. Got home at 00:30, eventually got back to sleep.
Went to work this morning, hubby reported the incident only to be told that there is no money for overtime & all he can have is time in lieu. It's not hubby's job to cover call out but the member of management who is supposed to do it put hubby's phone number on the contact sheet. He won't be answering his phone again when he's home!
I've worked from 6:30 til 3:30, took DGD to gym lesson, came home ate tea, all I want to do is go to bed, but I'm out at 8 to support a friend who is running a rune reading party. I'm not staying late, I have a DGC coming over tomorrow to make Christmas decorations.
