Very confused - debt recovery plus

Hi All!

I am very confused about the recent changes in parking tickets - I had one about a year an half ago, I ignored it, got letters from Roxburge, ignored it, and it all stopped. Problem solved.

I have another parking ticket, and have now had my first letter from "debt recovery plus ltd" and thought I would see a bit of information on here about them, and have seen that now I should not ignore them!!! aghh! I have read quite a few posts, but am confused with the jargon and what I should do now?!

Would appreciate some help!!!

Thanks,

    Thanks

Newbies! Have you got a private parking ticket? Read this now!!

Do tell me if the advice about debt collectors and your options is confusing and I will tweak it?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Well, it isn't if I had all the relevant ticketing information in front of me - only, I put the first letter in the bin (didn't get a window screen ticket) as I thought I would adopt the tactics I did when I received a ticket 18 months ago.

So now that I have a letter from the debt recovery plus people, I am unsure which route I need to go down now, as I can't go straight through to the POPLA process ??

    Thanks

Hmmm, tell me if the bit about Debt Recovery Plus there isn't clear, and your options if you are too late to appeal...

Read the thread linked by coupon , this will not go to court as Euro has one claim in the last 12 months, I may be mistaken it could be zero! Certainly DR+ has not and cannot issue any claims at all

Its too late now but never throw anything away where someone is making demands of you, even if it seems safe to ignore.
Filing them is easy civil debts have a 6 year window.
It is very difficult to advise on such things if everything has been binned.

Luckily Euro are pretty tame or they realise court does not pay, and hopefully they will go away.
  • However, this doesn't stop you making a complaint to Costa coffee - as an aggrieved and upset loyal regular customer.... etc and requesting they request Euro to cancel the charge as the registered keeper of the vehicle is now being hassled by debt collectors -

Try complaining first the the manager of the shop, then head office. If the coffee shop was on a larger retail complex - try finding out who the landowner is.

Should you be unlucky enough to actually receive a solicitors letter or court papers then you must come back for advice for what to do. (Also plenty of reading on this matter).
  • Thanks all for the information and help
