Do these come with a disk in case you have to reboot? Somebody told me that you have to buy this disk from Dell, but that seems a bit far fetched to me. Surely all suppliers provide one, don't they?

Does anyone know?
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

You only pay something like £5 for the O/S reinstall disk, and the drivers are on their site.

Check out www.dmxdimension.co.uk and see what £327 buys you in a Dell 1501. For those who dont know dmx they find the best dell deals and then give you the codes / links to get them from Dell.

If Dell can supply that spec of machine for £327, then i dont begrudge them a few extra £'s for the 'nice to haves'.

    Hello,

My name is Richard; I work for Dell here in Round Rock, Texas. I see in your post that you would like to obtain a boot disk for your computer. Are you referring to Windows bootup install cd or a Dell boot diagnostics cd?

If you require the Windows cd then you can call our tech support and request one to be sent to you. If you want the diagnostics, you can download that from our website, http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs.

    I hope this assist you.

Welcome DELL, your laptops and PC's feature regularly on here, we recognise they offer VFM and are quality kit for the £.

I've used the Dell forums before and found them to be really helpful, your presence here is most welcome, there aren't many companies who can extend customer support to forums such as this, another tick in Dells box for that.

    Hello again.

I am located in the US and we do not charge for requesting a Windows replacement cd. Due to international laws and policies I can't say for sure if they do internationally. I would advocate call our technical support in United Kingdom at 0870 152 4699. If you are in another county you can use this web page to obtain the correct support number, http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/default.aspx?c=eu&l=en&s=gen. Select your county, then the page will reload with the tech support number on the top of the page.

Finally, I want to thank everyone for welcoming Dell to your forum!

    Best regards,
