Text message problems

I have an iphone 5s and my gf has a 5c. When I send her a text message it says I am sending it from my email address rather than my phone number. Everyone else get normal text messages from me and I can't see anything obvious in the settings. Can someone please help :-)

That happens if both you and her have iMessage turned on.

To send all messages only by SMS go to Settings --> Messages.
And Turn off iMessage.

You can turn it back on again later if you need to.

There's no need to turn off imessage - you just need it set up properly. It sounds as though it's set up to initiate imessages from your email address rather than phone number.

Go to 'settings' > 'messages' >'send & recieve' > 'Start conversations from'

If you change this to your phone number it should sort it without losing the benefits of free imessaging!
