You are not allowed to stay in your car on the ferry. When me and OH moved abroad with our cats and then came back with cats and a dog we used the Eurotunnel as then you sit in the car for the journey (which is much quicker than a ferry anyway)lostinrates wrote: »You can sit on the train in the tunnel with them, that's how we did it.
Or has that changed?.
Do you mean sit in the car with them using Eurotunnel? That what we did. It seems that Eurostar does not allow dogs on the trainThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Yes, euro tunnel.
Sorry, couldn't remember word earlier! We did that then drove on through to destination (in our case Italy)0 -
Yeah, they have to stay in the car on their own the entire Journey on the ferry, which is what I didnt want. I want to know hes ok and safe.....maybe im just over cautious???

When we moved to France and then, a few years later, came back to England, there was no way we would have left our animals in the car on their own on the ferry (we were told we could visit them once, possibly twice during the crossing). The Eurotunnel only takes something like half an hour so in every respect it is better than the ferry.
You can sometimes get cheaper deals on Eurotunnel so I would start looking now at dates and prices although you probably already have as you say you like to plan well ahead! The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0
