Want to get my adult son a blu-ray player for christmas has anyone got any recommendations for one?
It does'nt have to be all singing all dancing was hoping to get this bit of his presents for no more than £55

No, they are not.

Some can connect to the Internet(via Ethernet and some via both Ethernet and WiFi) and allow you to watch YouTube and other TV programmes via the TV. Some have 3D capability(with a suitable 3D TV).
Some you can plug in a USB Flash drive or hard drive with your content to play on the TV. You can also do the same thing 'wirelessly' in some cases.

This of course is in addition to just playing BluRay discs.

You should go to a specialist AV forum to find the latest and best for your money.
Each manufacturer offers something slightly different from the other.

But that model would need a extra module to have WiFi capability.

Don't waste your money on one that just plays discs, unless it's really inexpensive.
