I see the Cazenove UK Smaller Companies fund is to hard close in January after passing the £1bn mark. Cue final stampede before the deadline... Its figures have been stellar.

Indeed, I think I made about 30% on that one alone over the past 12 months! Amazing performance.

and the point of this thread is, apart from boasting?

Can't you guys just quietly appreciate the gains?
  • I only have this fund a few months, can it still be drip fed into if you already hold it after the closing?

I am guessing the closing is for "new openings of the fund" would that be correct?

I am drip feeding it next in December.

    Thanks

To let people that are thinking of making a purchase that the fund will force close on January 22nd?

The weird part is that the closure date is exactly the same as Aqua... Coincidence?

I must admit, for a fund marked as "High risk", it's returned excellent results since the start with only one small blip. Well impressed with the results.

Now, anyone who has this, do you also have AXA Framlington Biotech Acc ? That one seems to have shot up in the last year as well, but I'm not sure why.

I have both and I wouldn't say the biotech fund has shot up, it's more accurate to say it's been all over the place recently. I topped up on one of the recent dips and it is intended as a long term hold so I really hope that won't get closed too.

The point is that the fund is closing to new money and if you are interested now is the time to invest.

Oh and a little bit of gloating:p

Thanks for posting as I hadn't picked up this was happening. Is a soft close where they don't take on new customers and a hard close where they don't accept any new funds even from existing customers?

    Yes that is the case.
  • It's had its day now I would wager. Everything is looking a bit over valued now. Not long until it all comes tumbling down.
