Hey guys, went down to matalan and asked for the manager who was really nice and helpful. He completely agreed with me about the charge being wrong and that the time limit is so that people don't just leave their cars there and go off. He said he would revoke the charge and that I should ignore any letters that come in the meantime. I am really happy that it got solved so easily and grateful for everyone on here's advice. Thank you all.0

It ain't over till the fat lady sings and in this case the fat lady in the PPC and the song is "We cancel your charge".
So carry on as if the Matalan good guy hadn't intervened till then.0 -
Are you saying that I should still appeal?0

Are you saying that I should still appeal?
yes, you still appeal on the usual points to the PPC, but also include the fact that you have spoken to Matalan and they are waiving the charge so you expect the PPC to comply too, in writing / email , so you get a hard copy that it has been cancelled, bacause if this goes pear shaped you will wish you had done so0 -

Hi,
My son has just returned home with a parking ticket from (VCS) - (handed to him by a very happy employee from VCS) He never opened it at the time and when i looked at it the details on it are for someone else's car. Wrong make/model/VRN etc.
Do we go down the same route of ignoring and waiting for the NTK letter, but then mention it's an invalid ticket? I'm just not sure what to do right now.....
His mate also got one handed to him on returning to his car, they were all unloading for a gig and there for just over 10 minutes, the wardens were clearly laying In wait.My son took a pic of a tiny sign posted high up, no lighting in the car park either so the signs weren't visible unless you went looking for them.
His mates ticket contains the correct vehicle details.
Any help would be appreciated. I have a very stressed son and his mate!
Thanks0 -
If they've got everything wrong, especially the VRN, how on earth are they going to be able to contact you/your son.
Is the VRN completely wrong, or is it a digit out?He never opened it at the time and when i looked at it the details on it are for someone else's car. Wrong make/model/VRN etc.
That sounds a bit of a blessing; he might have asked the parking chimp to give him a corrected one! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Chances are that they have handed the correct charge to another motorist. The PPC will claim that the NTDs was issued correctly but in fact the two were each handed to the wrong driver.0 -
HC77 has now opened his own thread, this thread needs closing by crabman as its old , out of date advice prior to today0

If Nigel is correct, await the arrival of the NtK which can then be appealed with a copy of the wrong parking ticket. It may still not succeed (given the pitifully poor chances with IPC members), but for the moment, other than read the newbies sticky, do nothing until (or if) a NtK arrives. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
