credit check an address only

hello all,
does anybody know if an actual address only can be searched by the credit reference agencies without a name to go with it?

i ask as i need to know if it shows how many people live at an address.

    You can't credit check an address no. You credit check a person.....credit file data can be used by relevant authorities to work out how many people live at an address, yes.

    Anyone can use various agencies to search an address and see who is registered there, the main sources of the data are the electoral roll and phone book. They cannot "credit check" an address though.

    It would be near impossible to determine what someone's current address is that way - addresses are updated at different times through the year and people change their addresses at various times too. For example, my current address is incorrect as I recently moved and it will take a few months to update.

    Also, a correspondence address isn't always the same as the address you are living at.

    Credit reference agencies will be able to see all people living at an address as it's their systems. Lenders won't be able to, they can only search people. Why do you need to know?
