Flea killer that's safe around babies?

We have two cats - one is an outside cat but the other shows no interest.
The outside one has brought fleas home and we're getting bitten left, right and centre! We have a 12 month old and so far he's managed to escape being bitten but we really want to nip this problem in the bud before it turns into a full blown infestation!
We mostly have wooden flooring apart from in the bedroom which has a carpet. We salted the carpet and will be hoovering it lately. I'm also in the process of washing all the dirty washing that the cats seem to like to sleep on!
If the salt doesn't work, is there a baby friendly flea spray that anyone can recommend? Or a more natural remedy if possible?
We've had both the cats Frontlined.
Thank you.

Not really...not whilst baby is around. I'd just use Indorex and then go out for the day. It's Permethrin based (used to kill head lice on humans) which isn't toxic to humans in small doses but I wouldn't use anything whilst baby is in the house. After a few hours out it'll be OK. Open the windows and let the house ventilate and it'll be fine. It's very toxic to cats so try and get them out of the house or locked in another ventilated room whilst applying it.:footie:

Which flea spray did you use? Ones from the supermarket or pet shop are completely ineffective.
The one I'd recommend is Vetkem Acclaim which can be bought online for £7-£8 so even more of a bargain and will give 12mths protection against fleas (it kills any fleas that hatch from previously laid eggs on contact).
Use in exactly the same way as the poster mentioned above with the Indorex. This one works equally as well but I, and other clients, have found it can leave a sticky residue on carpets which wouldn't be ideal with a baby crawling around.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
