Waitrose

Just been to Waitrose to pick things up for tea, and managed to drop a bottle of wine once I'd left the store. It went clean through the bag, and fell to the ground in a hideous mess with bits of sharp glass everywhere!

Was quite tempted to run off home, but went back into the store and asked if they had anything to clean up the mess. (I'd dropped the wine outside a side entrance, wasn't too busy, but still, was worried about people cutting themselves on the glass.) One of the Waitrose ladies had someone call the shopping centre team to get the glass cleaned up and told me to go pick up a new bottle of wine! I took the same one obviously and dug out my receipt, but she didn't even check I'd taken one of the same price. She even helped double bag the new bottle of wine so I could take it safely home.

I thought that was fairly nice of them - I mean, it wasn't their fault I managed to destroy a perfectly good bottle of wine!

    Good old Waitrose.

My local Waitrose used to be a Morrison's, and if you ask any of the staff, they'll quite happily tell you that Waitrose pay them more and give them loads of training. They're a lot happier to work for Waitrose, and I think it shows in their customer service.

Dead good, they are. The food is definitely pricier than at Mr T, but it's a more pleasant shopping experience.

PS I told my OH about what happened, and he was horribly upset at the thought of me wasting a bottle of good wine like that. I'm not saying he likes his drink, but.. ;)
