Question about landlords reporting tenants rent

Hi,
I'm probably worrying about nothing, but I'm a tenant, and I heard about landlords being able to soon put tenants rent payments on credit files.
We're with an HA. The thing I need to know, is if ours is put on, will our HA be allowed to put our full rent history on there from when we began our tenancy, or just the information from the date they would start to enter it?
I ask, because although we have never paid our rent late, between the HA, and their bank, and ours, mistakes were made last year, and our HA said we were in arrears.
This got sorted out, but it still worries me incase it got mistakenly put on our credit files. We've been tenants with them for 3 years.
Thanks,
Candy

AFAIK it would be from the date that the rule came in.0

Before they can report any data to the credit reference agencies they first need to obtain your permission to do so. So they cannot just start reporting your data without you realising.
Most likely they would include a relevant clause in the next rental contract you sign.
If they do ask you to sign a new contract/agreement then it would only be rent payments under that contract that they could report, not anything relating to a previous contract.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks to both of you for your replies.
That's put my mind at rest now.
