Cat peeing on settee

Hi folks.
I have four cats and one has recently started to pee in the living room, usually against a leather settee.
There seems to be a connection with this leather settee as we got the settee about four months ago and the cat has never peed in the house before.
The other cats are fine.
Any reason for this behaviour?
Or more importantly, any way to get it to stop?

Is the sofa second hand? If so, did the previous owner have any cats? It could be that he's just marking his territory against perceived other cat(s).
If it's a new sofa, again it could be due to either territory marking or stress at the change in his environment by the introduction of a large foreign object.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Strange question, but what is the settee made of? I caught my cat doing this once on my leather settee - after that she was never left in the room alone, but she's now gone to live with my daughter and has been doing the same thing on her leather settee. I googled it, and it seems to be a common-ish problem.
Edit - re-read and see it is leather. I wonder if it's some smell that's in the tanning material that might be left in the folds of the leather. If anyone has any helpful advice, I'm sure my daughter would be up for that (she's done water pistol, covering settee - cat finds the smallest space not covered!)... now resorts to, as I did, shutting her out of the room!0 -
Smack the cat's 4rse, wipe the pee with their fur, lob them outside. They won't do that too often.0

Noooo!! Our new (to us) leather sofas will be in place at the weekend. Will be seriously unimpressed if the cat pees all over them, or the brand new carpet!0

Tried that, no joy, he still does it.
Only one cat pees on it out of 3 males, 1 female.
I know what cats are like, once they pick a spot it's hard to stop them going there.
Settee was 2nd hand.0 -
