    Hi!

I was waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom SM-C101 Sim Free Smartphone deal to start and checked its price 4 minutes before the deal started. The full price was £299. After 4 minutes the deal became available with 30% off costing £280. I checked the product again it was now £400 full-price. I never thought Amazon would do this...

Just thought I should warn you to check the price elsewhere before falling for these "bargains".

i had a quick to aswell but that 299 was from a 3rd party seller . seems its always been about the 400 from amazon themself.

  • Only thing I fancied was the Nails Inc but at £30 still not cheap enough to justify spending that.:(
Can't work out whether I'm impressed with the Nails Inc for £30 or not. I think they had a similar set on QVC recently for just 50p more... I didn't buy but they sold out pretty quickly!

I grabbed one but I don't think £30 is worth it really.
Mainly cause I'm sick of glitter nail polishes recently and having to scrub at my nails for ages to take it off!

  • I just tried to shop at Amazon on one of their deals. £34.54

Lightning Deals price:£17.49 put into basket £17.49 however when you go to check out the price showing to be paid is £34.54.
Very annoying so although I wanted the deal I had to exit & try again with the same result. How can you get the deal price then???? This deal is still showing as an option not sold out.
Guess I just saved a "picker" the job of getting the item or did I just lose a "picker" a job by not buying?.

the only thing i can think of is if you unclicked use balance on the payment screen as that is the discount to come off.

if its not that im unsure why your not getting the deal to work if you are clicking on the add basket on the lightning page x
  • Not sure if it's just me or not, But i cant say i've seen anything that warrants the term bargain!?

This year everything still seems over priced & much cheaper else where once P&P is added?

Are you looking at the *whole* page when you checkout? I think it shows the full price and then there's a "discount" or "promotion" line or similar and the actual total is below that.
That's certainly the case with the email confirmation they send ;)

  • Anyone know what happens if you click on the wait list?
  • Hi Thanks for your answers littleoldme and Yolina but I have shoped and received deal prices on Amazon before without ever coming up against this problem & neither response is the answer to the problem :-(
  • I would definately say, if there is something you like, that you quickly check alternative prices on google.

I have already got a couple of great bargains, which were at least 50% more expensive elsewhere. But likewise I have seen many things which are, at best, only a pound or too less, during the lightning sale than before and after.

You get placed in a queue of people waiting in hope that people don't complete their purchases. If and when you get to the front of the queue you should be alerted you have 2 minutes to add the item to your basket

Is it the Planet of the Apes thing? (that's the only thing I can see at £17.49) if so the deal has now expired which would explain why you can't get the deal price. However because not all have been claimed, it will probably be back on at some point during the week.
If you couldn't get it while the deal was still open then I dunno what happened other than gremlins somewhere
