Am really looking forward to this but am working Tuesday and Wednesday night so am hoping not to sleep through all the good stuff! I am hoping for some deals on an ereader and a DAB radio. Don't think I've actually bought anything from the Black Friday deals before.

Nice to see this thread here:) I've not participated during Black Friday before, I have signed up to the Amazon email alerts and will be checking this thread too, tho I'm still not sure how it all works, how long a time frame each deal lasts for and wether or not you can search for what you want and if its included, wether it would come under the Black Friday category, so any tips would be most appreciated :)
  • Is it 9am it starts on Monday?

It works in a similar way to the daily flash deals. You get a description of the item, though it is usually cryptic (well was last year), and a time for it to be launched. They launch them regularly throughout the day, every 10 or twenty minutes last year. Then you fight against everyone else to get it in your basket before the stock is gone, which can be seconds on the popular items. I remember last year the Jamie Oliver cookbook for a fiver and the Little Mix Cd's that the band had customized were 2 popular items. From memory the deals get slightly worse every year.......

Trying not to get sucked in again, it's always a let down!

Lots of rank jewellery they can't shift, weird things no one would ever buy normally and one or two good things that are sold out the second they appear on your screen!

I remember last year was such a waste that I thought never again.

The first year I and a few people bought the KitchenAid.

The second year they put the KitchenAid up to £170+ compared to the lower price the year before so didn't end up buying it for my someone I know. That was disappointing for a lot of people.

The 3rd year they had no KitchenAid mixers at all. So better not to get hopes high this year and if they have it then that's a bonus. I think they had a clue last year for what seemed like the KitchenAid but when the mystery item came up it was really disappointing.
    Cup of Tea? :coffee:

Yes. A false clue. It was quite traumatic. It's all coming back to me now.... I might have to sing Celine's song....
