I purchased a PC game from an online retailer it arrived I tried to install it on my computer which has no internet connection (I am currently using my laptop) to find that you cannot install the game without an origin account and online access.
Nowhere in the product description did it state you required online access to be able to download, install and play the game. I know sale of goods act covers a product matching its description but what about when critical information is omitted?
Before anyone suggests it cant be installed on my laptop.
Many thanks for any help!

What game is it and who is the retailer?0

99% of all modern software has to be activated online, I've never seen a game (higher than the basic hidden object or kiddie games) that doesn't need to activate online.
In fact a lot of software now is no longer on a disk but downloadable only.0 -
Anyone...? Omitted infotmation means I cant use game as the internet is required0

Why not find a WiFi hotspot and use that to complete the installation?0

I say you have a valid point, and it's worth challenging if you cannot use it. It is a significant requirement, and I assume if they gave the other technical requirements (processor, memory specs etc) but not networking they'll recognise the error. Whilst other software may require activation (windows, office, Photoshop, etc) they all provide phone routes to do so.0

Is internet just required for activation, or to actually use the game ongoing?0

Is this the item?

If so, look at the screenshot of the box. Does your box say this? Did you still open the software?0 -
