20 steps each week and because of the job situation i could not apply apart from hoping by c.v sending to them and also rung up all major stores asked freinds with their own businesses ect.

in the last week alone i applied for about 6 by c.v and latest one was today through the jobsite.

edit: he did mention that i was not filling in the steps taken part but i was doing it all in the top sections only but he would not have any of it and suspended me.

my problem is how can they just throw a ban hammer without any proper advise?

Op, Omg just 6? in the last week and this week so far I applied for 18 Jobs so far and including 4 today.

I sign on this friday and I am sure Jobcentre advisors will happy with My jobseeking as always. I also keep in contact with Job agencies, Look in newspapers ete, send cvs/spec letters to companies.

You need to apply for Jobs in other towns maybe Manchester, Bury, Bolton, Nelson, Burnley, Accrington, Rochdale.

Them are the area's I apply for Jobs if there is no jobs in burnley and everytime I sign on, Jobcentre advisors are happy about my Jobsearch
    :)

Going by from your posts, it seems you are not trying very hard it seems, 6 Jobs? I am sure so many Jobs in your town or within about 25 to 40 miles from you.

I cannot believe this post - wasn't it you a few minutes ago complaining about people being sanctioned???? For not making enough effort to apply for jobs????? And wasn't it you not so very long ago saying there weren't jobs to apply for in your area - the same area so you say - that you couldn't do 35 hours jobsearch???? INNNNcredible!!!!!

OP. As others have said here, the first thing you must do is contact the Housing benefit section. A sanction does not mean you cannot claim support for rent, and you must secure your home. The sanction only applies to JSA. You might be better also posting the issue on the benefits board - there is a lot of expertise there on how to deal with sanctions and "poverty" (sorry for the inverted commas - I am trying to say that it is going to be extra hard for a time no matter what, but not being insulting to you).

If you have done everything required in your agreement you need to appeal. But there are also - I think - some provisions for payments if you have no money at all (the benefits board people are really good at these things but I am not - go ask!). If you have no money at all and no food, try looking up a local food bank. There are a lot of them around now, and they will provide at least three days basic food - it isn't glamorous, but it is better than starving.

That's some advice that helps you fix the here and now. I'm sure there will be other advice too and some of it will be better than mine.

On this board you can find a lot of people who may be able to help you look at how you are job searching and what might improve your chances of getting a job. Tell people more about yourself and what you are doing, and you'll get loads of good advice. Some may help, some may not - but there are a lot of people who want you to succeed in finding a job, and will be willing to help.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your insulting comment. Ignore list here you come. If you don't like my posts, don't read them.
  • There's several very thin-skinned characters around here who cannot bear any criticism and are given to flounce.

They all seem to be pompous types.
