I'm not aware of any companies that will lend someone that kind of money who is in receipt of £71 JSA. How much disposable income do you have after bills like food, energy, telecoms/TV!?

Did you notify your landlord when you moved overseas? Some social housing tenancy agreements have clauses that oblige tenants to notify them that their properties are not occupied over a certain period of time - the payment of rent doesn't negate this.

Not going to happen. You need an income for a mortgage.
  • Possibly a wind up but hey ho...Working oversees for how long! Did you tell the council?

You need to have an income to get a mortgage, ie from paid work. There are some benefits that are taken into account, I doubt JSA will be one of them, especially if that's your sole income.

Secondly if you have a deposit I believe you may have to declare this if you are in receipt of JSA.

BTW your on JSA aren't you supposed to be looking for work? After all it's called job seekers allowance????

I wish I could say working doesn't suit my lifestyle.
An opinion is just that..... An opinion

    +1

Wait until your circumstances allow you to get a job and then apply.

How will you pay the mortgage?

I don't think not paying the mortgage suits the personal circumstances of the bank lending you money. You're asking to borrow over 5x your income, despite how small that amount is.

Why not wait until you get a job? What about your personal circumstances mean renting it a while longer is so inappropriate?

Even if you could get a mortgage, you couldn't afford to pay it from your JSA money.

Mortgage givers wouldn't like you leaving it empty either - it'd have to be insured and insurance wouldn't like it being empty more than 30 days.

Whilst your on JSA, your chances of attaining a mortgage is less than none. Even once you get a job, its going to be a while before a company will feel comfortable enough to secure you with a mortgage.

But you worked abroad whilst renting before? Why can you not do it again?

How does a mortgage vs rent affect your ability to work overseas? You've got it all back to front...
