There are signs on site but none at the entrance.
Yes I guessed there would be some somewhere or they'd be in serious trouble for ticketing without any signs & authority! Advice as already given applies; in most cases entrance signs are mandatory so you can include it as one of several points of appeal when you get to POPLA stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Dear veichle control services
i recieved a letter dated ##/##/## claiming that my veichle had alledgedly breached the term and conditions in a car park you operate on the date of ##/##/##
I appeal against this claim and will not be paying the £100 charge.
Under the bpa regulations a private landowner must display a clear sign of terms and conditions at the entrance to the site. This is no present.
Secondly i do not beleive the contravention has caused the land owner any genuine loss
Also i would question wether you have written permission from the land owner in order to pursue this charge.
I demand that you drop the claim against my veichle immediatly and send my a parking on private land appeal code (popla) immediatley.
Apart from the awful spelling. How does this look people0 -
Also can you appeal by email. The letter states i can0

Yes that looks fine and yes, you can email IF the letter says appeals can be emailed.
Be ready for VCS to send a rubbish reply pretending you have to name the driver (you do not!) in which case you would have to write again. You could try to pre-empt that possibility by finishing your email now, with a line like 'For the avoidance of doubt, I am appealing as the registered keeper. The driver will not be identified so do not waste my time and yours with your standard response pretending you have to know who was driving. POPLA code or cancel, your choice.PRIVATE 'PCN'? I would change c-m ' s sentence to "I note that many Parking Companies require a serviceable name and address for the driver. As a consequence of that requirement, I am making this appeal as the keeper to enable a speedier conclusion to this matter "
This might prevent them from sending a demand for the driver to be named.0
