I'm guessing due to the value this is a laptop or similar. I would without doubt fully insure the item and check there are no exclusions such as LCD screens etc not being covered.
Not used it before but there is a website called 'Shipley' which may be better for a specialist item. You describe the item with photos and courier's tender for your business.
I used shipley a lot previously. I sold fire suites ex next directory! They were heavy and bulky but i got them picked up and delivered for £20 each! Tnt were £89. Iused to give the driver a delivery note for recipient to sign. All good. You can generally tell from their comments in their tender if they seem ok or not, and you can see feedback from other customers. Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -

Afternoon all, just been reading all week with no posts as my dh is off work to use up,the last of his holidays.
Good news is I have made a dent in the last of the Xmas shopping kids have sort of gave me a list of phone ranging from £180 to £300 waiting to c what happens tomoz with Black Friday may pick up one of the dearer ones cheaper.
Also been to metrocentre today hof had 25% off including uggs so got best friend, mil n mam them as xmas presents as usually buy perfume gift sets which cost around £45 each so thought it would be nice n unexpected to get them some v nice slippers instead. Costing £52.50 each not much more than perfume.
Hope they appreciate them.0 -

If its a private seller , you have to rely on goodwill of them paying it, if it was a business im sure they have to pa under dsr's.
On another note i have been ebaying for years and found out this week i sent wrong item to someone:eek: wouldnt be so bad but was supposed to go someone else:o
I once sent something to Australia by mistake:eek: fortunately it was someone who had bought things from me before & posted it back to me ( did send her money for return postage costs)
I am now really careful to send the right items to the right people :cool:0 -
