Honestly, no.
Its hard to explain. When ex absconded with my son, i hadnt seen him for 2 yrs (son). It was a nasty court case. Out of the ble, ex decided my dad could see my son once a week for 2 hrs. This was meant to be a time when my son could be reintroduced to hs siblings and other family, at my dads house. Apart from me and husband.
Now, my dad took it upon himself to keep his contact times a secret from everyone, or forget to tell them. He became friendly with ex, had him in for tea etc, knowing what had gone on and that i had been physicaly assulted by this man. He was my dad and chose the wrong side. The courts decided that my dads contact shuld be stopped as it wasnt working as it should, therefore leavng my poor baby without much needed family attention and normality in the !!!!!! life he was having with his dad at the time. He ad been removed from school and dudnt see a soul apart from his dad for a lng long time.
I hate him for it. I was in a bad enough place as it was at the time and would have expected his support.
Wool,
Just want to wish you all the luck in the world. Your son is fortunate as he has a mum that never gave up on being a mum. Sadly his dad never really understood what a dad was.
Your dad made the wrong choice and failed to put the child first, it is clearly evident when the court decided to end his contact.
People should only be in our lives when they deserve to be or you are strong enough to manage them safely.
Keep up the mummying as sons often need this throughout their life.
You're a star
xxxxxx

Keep hold of that man he sounds like a good 'un
We only had to pay £9k because social services got involved and so it became free. Ex was claiming so it was all a big joke to him to keep costing us money. One day in court cost us £780. We went in with solicitor, barrister etc, then in court half way through, ex sacked his barrister and we had to adjorn because he didnt have representation so it was against his human rights to continue. Anothe time, he pretended to have a heart attack and knocked all the files all over the court room. He had to leave to see the doctor, and turned up at 4:50pm to say there was nothing wrong, obviously nothing could be done in 10 minutes. At this time, i lived 4/5 hours away from court.
Thank god for snoozing on credit cards. Imagine if we had had to pay the full bill. We would never have afforded it, but it wasnt a choice. My child over money. Id have robbed a bank!!Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -

Oh, that was because son will be 16 december, all court orders go out the window and his dad and paternal family will be allowed to contact him. He doesnt want to see them, and has actually asked if he can change his name. The court order wouldnt allow it until his 16th.
I did start writing a 'book' about the whole saga. It was quite a mental time.
I do wish FunkyFeet a happy reunion. Let us know!!
I would check the orders, as not many stop at a child's 16th birthday. Even if it does, if he does not want contact it is his choice no one can force him
carry on with the book it will be cathartic.;);););)

Evening all
Great Job on the calender to all involved
My day not been so good.
Birthday yesterday, friend got attacked by a neighbour's dog on her way home:(.
Didn't know anything about it until neighbour rang on door this morning.
This dog has previously gone for me and had to get back in the house double quick to avoid it.
Dog jumped out of car and went for friend sinking it's teeth into her coat and arm. She had an umbrella in other hand and hit it over the head with that.
Neighbour all upset wanting to know what friend is going to do, tells me dog was just protecting its territory. Obviously thinks it owns the whole close  .
Tell me it's a rescue dog and they look after it really well.
Friend says she thinks the dog should be put down as it could attack child, but she is not going to report it and I should tell the neighbour.
Have been to tell her, says daughter is going to take dog.
Friend is in shock, neighbour probably thinks I'm horrible and everyone in the Close seemed to know about it before me.0
