I've never been able to exchange or get a refund in my stores, but then all mine are full of trouts:cool: An option might be to wait till just after christmas and tell them it was a christmas present, think a lot of stores are more relaxed on returns just after christmas
However, without a receipt the max you will get is the current selling price, and they are all likely to be reduced after Christmas.
TBH, as there are so many conditional spend leaflets giving £5 or £10 off clothes, you can't really blame them for asking for proof of how much you actually paid :)

Im thinking you might just have been unlucky, unless they've changed their policy recently? I've never had any problems having refunds to a GC on clothing. I always take mine to the clothing desk rather than CS.
I did go to the clothing/tech desk, as I thought the lad there would be more likely to do it than the older lady downstairs.
I may try again, but my nearest Extra is not very near to me so I have to travel.

Yes, I thought of that too, but I have a slightly complicated plan to buy a phone from T online, which involves doubling up, so would need to do it while the double up is still on.

Does anyone know when the double up ends?
    Thanks

Good idea, but if it gets reduced you'd only get the lower amount.

Was refused a gc refund on a clothing return when I'd lost the receipt. Had anyone else had this or did I just get a trout serving me?

The trick in T is to ask if you can exchange but make sure you have a small balance to pay (£1/£2 cash)

They then give you a new receipt which you later use to return for full cash refund ;)

I have bought my wife so many clothes that don't fit its a wonder she doesn't have a complex

Note: i ONCE had the SA write "no receipt" on the exchanged receipt. So i just had to exchange without receipt one more tome and all worked as planned

I ONCE had an SA refuse refund because i didn't have both the original and exchange receipt. I said i didn't get it from the previous SA (a half truth :rotfl:). Quick call to HO later and i got a giftcard as an apology and my store were instructed that an exchange receipt is all that is require

I was in T cs yesterday and there was a lady who had been overcharged on a vtech airport toy was charged 25 when the sel said 18.50. SA went and looked and came back with yellow sel stating 18.50. The SA gave her the difference of 6.50. I piped up and said shouldn't have been Dtd. She then said no only on certain items, thats strange I said I have had dtd on toys before. She then said its a new policy.
I told the lady to contact T h/o on their free phone number and check.
Anyone else had this problem? Has T changed their policy?
    TIA

I suspect that the SA is either badly trained or lying through her teeth!
The DTD policy is clearly worded and there are no caveats!

    Hi Ekroys.

Simple answer is no, t have not changed their policy on dtd.

However, T staff seem to have taken it upon themselves to alter the policy as they go along.

So many excuses, but the fact remains, DTD applies to every single item sold instore.

If you ring HO and mention how the overcharge came about, they will ring the store and put them straight.

This happened to me last week.

Note that the 3rd set of numbers on the receipt are the store identifiers...

    A classic CS trip.

    Q. "Have you had DTD in this store before ?"

    A. " Do you mean have I been overcharged in this store before" ;)
