Yes, I have been told that in T's. Also, the exchange can only be from the same department ie you can't swap for food). In S's (and possibly A's too), they won't even give an exchange without a receipt.
Looks like I'm stuck with £50 of clothes that are useless to me then. I thought people on here had returned without a receipt and got it back on a gc, or am I imagining it?xxlouisexx56 wrote: »I have returned clothing to all 3 without receipts.
T - can only exchange within clothing department
A - they have mostly just given me the current cash value on a gift card. But that's my local. Others have only let me exchange.
S - exchange within clothing
I end up doing this a lot as my parents and inlaws firstly have no idea what size my girls are and secondly they have hideous taste in clothesI Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Thanks to you for your help. Operation wine was a success!!
I messed up a bit by swapping one of the 2 for £10 for a bottle of half price port but still happy with what I paid.
Might go back tomorrow :-)0 -
You must have been lucky at S,xxlouisexx56 wrote: »I have returned clothing to all 3 without receipts.

on FB they say this:
'We changed our refund policy in January of last year, meaning that we require proof of purchase when accepting returns or exchanges. However, if you used your Nectar card at the time of purchase, you may be able to get a statement which we'll take as proof.'
I was once in the queue standing behind a grandmother who wanted to exchange something she had bought for her granddaughter and they wouldn't let her.0 -
It was in T. The lad that served me said exchange only. I asked about a gc and was told a firm no.
Im thinking you might just have been unlucky, unless they've changed their policy recently? I've never had any problems having refunds to a GC on clothing. I always take mine to the clothing desk rather than CS.0 -
How wonderful the real gift of giving is anonymously. You probably g ot more out of it than the struggling family. Lovely storycouponqueen123 wrote: »if you dont need or want them then why not go to tescos and double them up for warm winter clothes/blankets and donate to a homeless shelter , or if u feel you could walk around town at nite (not alown) and give out clothes/blankets to homeless people
me and o/h did this last year and they were so greatfull we got blankets and sandwiches and drinks and went around town giving them out to homeless people

mebe..altho I think the ogio that hit the papers last time was £9.99 and 3 for £12, so it was giving a massive discount unlike the offers in this promo:cool:
Doing a Squills here quoting meself...but how about simply "MAD" as this is what he was known as by all:D
If I was one of his family I don't think I would like some flowers spelling MAD tbh. Means one thing on mse and another in real life. But obv up to those who have contributed to decide;)Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I was in T cs yesterday and there was a lady who had been overcharged on a vtech airport toy was charged 25 when the sel said 18.50. SA went and looked and came back with yellow sel stating 18.50. The SA gave her the difference of 6.50. I piped up and said shouldn't have been Dtd. She then said no only on certain items, thats strange I said I have had dtd on toys before. She then said its a new policy.
I told the lady to contact T h/o on their free phone number and check.
Anyone else had this problem? Has T changed their policy?

I've never been able to exchange or get a refund in my stores, but then all mine are full of trouts:cool: An option might be to wait till just after christmas and tell them it was a christmas present, think a lot of stores are more relaxed on returns just after christmasBe thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Agreed, it would need to be run by the family 1st but I reckon mad would have a big smile on his face if he saw it!!:D
