Hi all, need some advise please.
Currently rent a flat in Middlesbrough with my partner whilst we were both studying, have now both finished so looking to move. Rent from a property agency so require to give 1 months notice to leave.
We are moving to Darlington or surrounding area, we want to move in at the last week of July, have been looking at areas ourselves and have an idea where we want to move.
My question is is it worth contacting agency's to look round officially or is it too early? Would they keep a property for us to move in at the end of July? Obviously i suppose each agent is different. Thanks

It will do no harm to ask now. They would only 'keep' a property if you paid for it.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0

People who are giving a month's notice to move out at the end of July will be serving notice from now, so no, it's not too early. There are likely to be properties advertised now with available dates towards the end of July and beyond.
If you decide on a property that is currently empty, you may have trouble in persuading a landlord or agent to keep the property for you as landlords quite rightly don't want their properties sitting empty. But you might find the property is still empty when you are ready to move. Personally I wouldn't bank on that!
However, if you decide on a property which is currently tenanted, you'll be able to pay an admin fee/holding deposit to hold the property for you, and move in once the current tenants move out.0
