MSE comparison site

Quite disappointed, your comparison site will only compare the cost of the tariff that I will be on when my present contract ends with British Gas.
I have switched via another comparison site which was happy to show my present dual fuel costs, but as a fan of MSE would have preferred to use your site.

If your BG tariff was due to come to an end shortly, whats the point in comparing new prices to something you will no longer have?
  • agreed but it fails to give me an idea of what savings are available against my current bills, the other comparison sites use your existing tariff, which to me seems a better idea, and gives a true comparison from what I am paying now, to what I may be paying. If the majority of the other comparison sites use your existing tariff and not 'the one I will be transferred to' it does give a more transparent comparison.
  • It doesn't matter what your existing tariff is/was or how much you might be saving.

It is what you will be paying in the future that matters.

If I enter as my current suppliers SG and Hydro Electric I am told that Eon is my cheapest future supplier and will save £300.

Even if I then put other suppliers it still comes up with Eon as my cheapest supplier but the savings go down.

Yet if I compare my actual tariff, using my usage in a spreadsheet, SC and kWh tariff, every supplier is going to cost me more because prices have gone up.
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:
