Didn't this super new computer system cost £200 million?? Probably one of the reasons the Big 6 'only' make 5% profit on their retailing arms is the ridiculous amounts they spend on stuff like this that doesn't work (IIRC BT reportedly spent £300,000,000 on a computer system that was so poor they ended up taking the suppliers to court!). This is why this is as I have said before a relatively easy business. Just look at your costs and put that £50 per household (millions of them) on top by increasing prices way above inflation every year. No incentive to cut back on costs like non-functioning IT systems at all. These companies are very poorly run because basically they don't have to be well run to be profitable year on year.
