    Thanks, all good answers, I was concerned because we are going to travel to the USA and you have to get a visa before you go. Passport has 4 years left on it.

    Ah -you might have a little problem there - if visa is in married name and passport in maiden name?

    Precisely why it's often a bad idea to ask questions like this on here because there's always something ready to give out wrong information!

    Happens on the holiday board all the time.

    People answer without actually checking what they're saying is right leading to confusion for the OP. And it's normally people who have no experience of the question/situation themselves anyway!
