SAD FART....but what is Reasonable?

Options
In Oct 2012 I bought a pair of shoes from Clarks for £90 RRP (Obviously being a good MSE follower I used a 20% off code & also a Cashback site so paid less than the retail price)

It's now Nov 2013, and having worn these shoes almost every day for over a year, the soles on both shoes are finally giving up and holes are developing.

Having paid £90 and had 1 years worth of wear out of the shoes, have they lasted a "Reasonable Length of Time"?

  • Everyday wear...I would say so.

I pay £30 a pair and normally replace 2-3 times a year so not far off the same.

I would have said so, yes. 90 quid is a reasonable amount to pay for shoes, but everyday wear really takes its toll on the inside and outside of footwear.
Are they the sort of shoe that can be resoled ? If so, then maybe next time it's best to think of doing this when the soles have worn a bit, and before holes develop.

You really should alternate the wearing of shoes to make them last, they need to dry out.
