New build area - council tax query

  • ChasingButterflies, thank you for your posts. The council should adopt the area at some point; I think once the developers have finished building and don't need all the heavy lorries and equipment coming in and out they will finish off all the roads to a high standard and then pass everything to the council. But they have been building here over 5 years already and still another 1 or 2 years to go!

It is a huge development, so getting a few neighbours together to arrange something isn't likely to have the desired effect, unfortunately (marybelle01). Paying council tax wouldn't be so bad if you felt most things were covered and they actually listened to your suggestions, but that isn't the case here and it's pretty frustrating :(

P.S. Comeandgo, helpful posts also, thanks!

Oh my goodness, I'd sue them for past council tax payments and demand compensation :D

Nanny didn't tell anyone to 'shut up' she used a very well known phrase/expression that just means either take action to achieve what you want, or stop talking about it.

I doubt very much that Nannytone was being disrespectful. :)

OP have you considered that if the council provided bins, your council tax might increase to band E or F to pay for them?

I live in a rural village and the facilities are woeful compared to what are available in towns. I dream of street lamps and pavements... but I still pay band G council tax.
