Tesco are officially the worst supermarket!

Options
They scored 45% overall in a Which "Best & Worst Supermarket" survey which I can easily believe.
The range of bad value is stupendous, hiking prices by 50% week on week, poor quality vegetables, tasteless and tough meat, shallow customer service, dissatisfied staff.....etc...their buying dept.need firing.

If they don't do something fundamental soon they'll be scoring zero and losing massive market share.

The new management have never got to grips,so bring back Terry!

I'm just off to Morrisons where the value is good and the meat tastes of .....meat!

That isn't really news though is it.
    The poll was in February.

If the supermarkets continue these tricks, time for consumers to get together and name and shame one particular chain or even just one product.
A side effect would be less employment at say TESCO but made up in time with extra staff needed at the other shops.
  • I have just left my local Tesco's and just by chance I spotted another of their cheap tricks. Pantene shampoo's and conditioner's 400mls - buy 1 get 1 free £3.69. However they are also running alongside this a 3 for 2 offer so if you get a 2 shampoos and 1 conditioner it will cost you £7.38. But if you get 2 of each on the bog off you will get 4 of the 400mls for the same £7.38 also. This is probably another reason why they have been given such a low vote. Get with the programme Tesco shoppers are not idiots.

  • Tesco said that their dodgy discounts occurred during a transition period to comply with the agreed OFT guidelines.....

British public refused to do this once every two years to destroy Vodafone. They are hardly going to bother with something they have to do every one or two weeks.

Tesco was caught out last Christmas when they tried to make out their £25 turkeys were half price.
When asked to explain, they said they had them at £50 in August at a certain store.

Since then their sales have gone down and their prices have gone up.
They`ve lost the trust of the public with their dodgy dealings.

I don't buy food in Tesco anymore but do sometimes buy DVDs and books and the occasional t-shirt in the one near my mother.

As someone with diabetes I don't want an unknown quantity of glucose syrup in my pork loin steaks nor 11% added water and two additives. Tesco doing that was the whole reason we went organic in 2012. So I guess they did me a favour in that sense as I'm way healthier now.

However, the two big 24/7 Extra stores I use never seem to have much organic veg and the meat is dang tough. When they have organic, the quality at Sainsbury's, ASDA and Lidl is far better.

I don't trust their pricing policy. Right now they have Green & Black's organic ice cream 500ml 2 for £5.. well Ocado and Sainsbury's have offers on making theirs 2.25/2.24 each not 2.50 each. That can be duplicated time after time.

Husband does sometimes use local Tesco Express for paracetamol, chewing gum, paper just because it's handy and the staff are nice. But actual food? Nope. I did an online Ocado order today and saved over £15 and I know that if Tesco would have worked out cheaper I will get an online evoucher within a couple of days after my order arrived.

I really honestly don't understand why people are so loyal to Tesco. It's not the cheapest or the best.
