Lintels/ Double glazed window

What is the easiest way to check if we have an internal lintel?
We bought a house in May and the window in the dining room looks to be out of shape.
There is a strip of wood on the external wall that has split slightly.
Is it worth getting a double glazing company out to give us a quote, or will they say, get a builder to do the lintel and we will fit the window?

Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

you would need to expose it by removing the plaster a bit to check if there is a lintelEx forum ambassador

It is more likely there is no lintel on the outside than the in depending on age of house internal lintol would be timber or concrete this you could test for by knocking a nail in to the plaster at top of frame nearer the room side though than the windowif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0
