Visa for Australia requirements

Hi,Planning on going to Australia for a year do they do credit checks or anything on ya as mine is not the best so was looking to know will this cause any sort of problem.Cheers

    Criminal Records are an issue, but credit checks afaik are not part of the equation. They will check on arrival you have sufficient funds for your stay though.

    Also, ETA (holiday visas) are frequently rejected if you share the same name as someone with a criminal record or previously turned down, particularly harsh if your real name is John Smith, or similar!

    Cheers for that dont wanna go ahead booking and get turned down for something like that.
    Reason I am going is if I dont go next year I will never go!!
    Promising myself this years I am going so just going down to book it this week.
    So as far as you know there is no checks on credit at this end to see if you can pay your bills at home, its just enough to stay there??
    Gonna leave enough to cover bills anyway.

    If it's an ETA you can get your visa before you book. It should be valid for 12 months. Someone else can probably recommend the best place to do it!

    AFAIK you need to prove you have £2,000 in your bank account.
