Hi Piquant, good to see you back with us! Well done on almost being at that amazing part of life - being debt-free! :D So many have already got there and you're almost in reach of them. Well done!

Welcome back to the SPC, could I just please ask if you'd kindly pop your SPC No on your siggy for me? It's vital, especially at counting up times.

You'll find the current thread * here!* and I'll be starting a new one (SPC 7) next Friday the 29th, but you can start saving straight away. Keep with us by daily/weekly visits though as it really does encourage folk to save so much more.

Great to see you again, all the best!

    Sue x

Thank you! It's good to be back. Money was so tight I didn't have any for any sort of pot, I needed every penny just to survive. However, that's behind me now and from next Tuesday unofficial debtfreeness will be here :T My number is now in my signature and I have already started on the challenge with the loose change from my purse.

I am not a proper sealed pot challenger, but I have collected about £20 worth of coppers. I know this as last time filled the pot it was about £11, and I have filled the pot, emptied it into a bag and pretty much refilled the pot. I also have some 5p coins.

Last time I used coinstar, but the commission annoyed me so much.

What do you use to avoid coinstar?
  • i use one of my banks I think natwest and coop don't have a limit

I went to the bank today in fact. If you ask for some money bags they will give you a whole wad of them. Then you just sort your change into the bags into the amounts its says. Most banks will only let you take all the bags in in one go if they are sorted correctly.

I personally use the left over money to start next years total.

Also, because i am sometimes lazy i weigh my bags out rather than count them since this is all the banks do anyway :) If you wish to do that i could tell you the weights.

You would also be more than welcome to join us here
