Can anyone help please?
Over the past 15 years or so I have had about 20 different credit cards and 10 different mortgage lenders(I did have up to 5 buy to let properties once)My problem is that about 5 years ago I shredded all old paperwork . At the time I had never heard of ppi's. I was always employed throughout all the loans/credit and really don't know if there were any ppi's on any of the cards or mortgages. How can I find out old info such as a/c numbers etc. my spending on these cards was extremely high. Some new cards were balance transfers and I also had a £3000 Barclays loan with an account I have since closed. I keep reading about successful claims,and wonder whether I have a case to bring. By the way I was made redundant 2 years ago and my old frivolous life is long in the past!
Please don't judge me too harshly,I was naive and stupid with money and have paid the price in recent years!
If anyone can put me on the right path I would be extremely grateful for any guidance.
Thankyou

You'll have to send Subject Access Request (SAR) letters to each of your lenders.
Things to consider;
Each SAR will cost £10
Banks generally destroy information older than six years
You aren't even sure you had PPI,so how do you know you were mis-sold?0 -
Hi,thanks. I have no idea if I was mis sold or not. I need to check if I had ppi's then take it from there.0

I sent a SAR to my bank Barclays, and they sent me copies of all transactions from my accounts going back as far as 1998, from that I was able to retrieve account numbers for old credit cards and Loans from the direct debits, which enabled me to retrieve quite a few applications and terms and conditions. This method may help you in the same way. Good luck.0

Its definitely worth a try. I received £5000 last week for loans going back as far as 2002, for which I had no record or account numbers and thought I didn't have PPI on them, it turns out there was. I contacted my banks and they did the searches for the old accounts, I didn't even have to pay the £10, my bank was Barclays. Good luck0
