Finsbury Insurance - Anyone with Experience of them

I got a quote for a property I own and the cheapest quote came back from a company called Finsbury Insurance Group.

I've read on the following link that they seem to be a decent company (http://money.excite.co.uk/finsbury-insurance-group-N25124.html) but i was wondering if anyone has had personal experience of them or know anything more about them?

I'm always wary of the cheapest quotes, but I tend to use it as a bartering tool for my preferred provider, although their quote was quite a bit away.

Thanks.

  • Finsbury is another brand of Xbridge who are also SimplyBusiness

They however are not the insurers, assuming its Landlords insurance you are looking at then QBE and Axa are the actual insurers. Xbridge have a binder with the two insurers which allows them to write business on their behalf using their own brand name (Finsbury) but the small print identifies the true insurers.

Binders can also come with claims handling authority so it may be Simply Business or it may be one of the insurers you deal with in the case of a claim (or it may depend on the size of the claim)
  • Thanks for that detailed reply. I presume then they are a safe option to choose then?

Axa and QBE are big stable players.

Personally I am not a fan of companies that present their own other trading names as though they are a totally separate company as it always makes me feel that they're trying hide something. It is purely a personal thing and Xbridge whilst relatively young in insurance timescales have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies and most have at least a little subjufudge

Do you think they're an OK bet for public liability insurance?
