Which Camera??

What camera would you recommend for a pensioner who wants to be able to take photos which can then be uploaded to his digital photo frame? He currently doesn't have a camera afaik and is dependant on others taking the photos and then copying them on to his digital photo frame memory card. The budget is about £40.

I don't honestly remember as I put the photos on it for the person who gave it to him as a Christmas present on Christmas Eve last year and he was to bring it back to me to get photos added on to it but he didn't. I remember having to put the photos into a jpeg format as some of the photos were from a mobile phone.0 -
The key thing is - does it take Compact flash or SD cards? That's quite a major difference (tiny card Vs bigger one). It would be far simpler if the camera was the 'right type'
Most cameras are now SD, and it is a newer (but not 'new') format than Compact flash
Were the cards much bigger than a stamp?0 -

Afair it takes SD cards but I cannot remember. I think I had to use an adaptor but I am not sure. The memory card definitley wasn't much if any bigger than a stamp.0 -

I am almost certain that it takes SD cards because I used an adaptor to take the photos of an iphones memory card and put them on to the photo frame.
Any suggestions which camera to get as I had hoped to get it tomorrow?0 -

To be honest, at the £40 mark, you're at the extreme budget end of the camera world. They will need AA batteries.
Can you up the budget to £60? You can get a couple of OK cameras with rechargeable Lithium batteries for that price
So, for £40-50ish:

or

For £60 - rechargeable battery included..:

I wouldn't really bother with the cheap Fuji cameras, i've had one before and it was atrocious. If you really want value for money, go find a CeX store and get an older, second hand camera from a good brand (Canon, Nikon, Panasonic)0 -

I noticed both of you pointed to the Nikon L27. :money:
I mentioned it to the person who is wanting to purchase the camera for the pensioner and they are happy with it so I think I will purchase it from Amazon as the voucher offer has finished at Argos.
The pensioner has always wanted a camera but never got round to purchasing one as he thinks that "the technology is too far advanced" for him. I am looking forward to seeing his face on Christmas day as I will be there when he gets the present. :j0
