Thank you very much Cisco001. I've gone back to the Dino site and made the suggested changes apart from the HDD so far. Sorry to sound thick, but if the volume is the same, what difference does it make by doing this please?

sound card do with quality of sound. You will need good speakers to hear the difference between onboard sound or sound card. if you just need speaker louder, buy powerful speakers.

you mentioned sound ability. i assume u mean quality??

    From the DELL Outlet

Options from £210 to £265. All with 3 Year Next Day Warranty
Good warranty. Is that a special offer or something new Dell (buisness and Education) outlet have started?
PS. also Windows7 options for the 8 haters.

Has been there every time that I have looked, so I don't think that it is a special offer.
I chose the Windows 8 Pro option for the OP as it has the downgrade option should he not like Windows 8.
