If you are serious about invigilating I can see if any EOs close to you are planning on recruiting for next academic year- I'm a member of a couple of EO groups and they post requests up at times - I know lots of schools are still short and using agency amd some invigilators have left during the exams!!

@apple_muncher you are as organised as ever! The job sounds like a bullet dodged.  Agree re listening to that still small internal voice that screams 'run for the hills'.  We can't always say why but it is a useful tool and I've always regretted it when I've ignored it.  Enjoy Jersey! Love Humdinger xx

I need to see which days I am allocated for teaching first before I can think about using one or two of my days off for something else. I expect (and have been told that I'm right) that the next 2 school years with pip will be the hardest ones so I don't want to overcommit.
My own school may take me on. And there are several within a few miles (one is currently advertising on the tes jobs site).
It may end up being something I do the following academic year.

Last night, I planned today. it was a very good move.
School drop off; sainz; liddle; gym class (not a fan of the instructor's attitude, dealing with teens most of the week, I can do without the gratuitous sarcasm and inferred incompetence! But I still enjoyed myself :D ), home and wash; sew until 12; prep and eat lunch and relax until 1; check elephant/giraffe eye numbers and cut out a gazillion more; go on to exam board site and do some very important stuff.
Now all I have left to do is to contact the exam board about booking accommodation if they want me to attend a meeting near mothernerd.
    And collect pip.
    And sort library books.
And maybe pick up pip's chem paper exam.

I took my Civil Service pension early apple. I always thought I would wait until I was 60. but one day I just thought to myself, why? The amount I lost was negligible and the lump sum paid for a new (long awaited kitchen) and a new car. OH is also a civil servant and has 2 pensions and 2 lump sums to come, so it isn’t as if it was the only lump sum we were going to get. The extra money has enabled me to work less and I feel I have a much better work/life balance.

A quick trip to liddle was included in this morning's activities. To spend £7.46 in order to qualify for a free £10. So I bought some'high priority' foods: choc for me and dh 🤣🤣🤣.

Tomorrow should consist of much less screen time unless it is exam stuff. Therefore: crafting (sew, stuff, cut...), reading a book, exercising, gardening are all allowed. Eating too 😂.
