My application is nearly done. Should submit it later today. In my mind, I've worked out my life assuming I have the job. Might have missed out the need to apply, get an interview, teach a lesson and then be offered the job...!

Dh and I made it to 20 years of marriage yesterday. Not too shabby! I bought him a metal coffee plunger thingy, as he has a tendency to break the glass ones. What with next year being 21 years, we might actually have to do something more special...

The f+v boxes were so good, I got two!!!

4 packs chardonnay/chantenay carrots

4 very ripe mango

3 onion

3 whole sweet corn cobs

1 pack plums

1 pack grapes

1 pack nectarines

1 cooking apple size small!

1 pack baby plum toms, somewhat squished

1sweetheart cabbage

Now to do something useful with it all! Mouldering away in the cupboard is not its destiny!!!!

Dc is having a crap day all round. I had arranged to collect them at 1.30 but suspect I may be called for earlier. In a way, I hope they do call me... Poor kid.

Oh No!  I thought school might be a bit better for them now.  Fingers crossed for you both.

At least you can make a nice pot of mango curd together while they talk about it.

Thanks f0xh0les. School started like a lead ballon because we have had a name change. I emailed the HOY about it towards the end of the hols, and they set the changes in place. Then the dep head stepped in and drew it all back. So dc had seen all the changes and was happy. Then they got withdrawn and they are still being addressed by their old name. Which is like a kick in the gut every time. Grrrr.

I managed to nab a GP appt at the last minute this morning, and had 31 mins to tell the sch and get dc and go there! We made it. Phew. I was allowed in this time by dc, and the GP is a good'un.

Their form tutor had been pinged recently, so hadn't been in sch this week, and they are the first person dc would talk to about stuff. So that probably added to the anxiety for the week. And having anxiety is so tiring, it uses up all your energy. I'd arranged to pick up dc at the end of lunch but when I picked them up for the dr, I said they'd not be back . So that sorted that out very easily.

Dc had some toast when we got home and has had a good lunch (for them). They are now in their room listening to music in order to cry and get the emotions out. They told me they needed to do this and I said I'd not interrupt unless they called me.

It's a new world ... you're doing so well supporting your dc, and on the principle of "better out than in" that they are using, I hope the weekend is a peaceful one.
