Deionised Water For Steamer

A Morphy Richards steam we bought says to only use 'Deionised Water' to prevent limescale build up! I can't find this is in any of the major supermarkets.
Anyone any ideas where I could buy it?
I was wondering if that ironing water you can buy is the same stuff?

Battery water from any motor factor is just the same.
OK, you should use deionized water, it a given.
But what happens if you don't?
To be honest, nothing, the iron will still work for at least 4 years, and it will leak before that.
So just use tap water.
But there is a big biggy.
You need to filter any type of water that you use. The big killer of irons, steam cleaners etc is crap in the tank.
Take heed :A:A:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Thanks, that was the one place I had not tried as it's miles away but I'll pop over and get some!0 -
I dunno so much. We have one of those steamer irons and it has a built in de-scaler, so they say to just use tap water, but there is still a huge amount of scale building up on the iron (replaced the filters several times now). I'm actually going to change to using deionised water because I'm getting tired of getting gunk onto clothes every other day!cyclonebri1 wrote: »To be honest, nothing, the iron will still work for at least 4 years, and it will leak before that.

Alternatively, leave some water in a bottle for a few days.
Not perfect but will work fine.
You can also buy additives to make tap water de-ionised.
If you have a condensing dehumidifier then the water from that is de-ionised.
I throw it away weekly!0
