Watching movies offline on Surface 2?

Just wondered if anyone knew a way to watch movies on the Microsoft Surface 2 offline while out and about. Thanks.

I know someone whom owns a surface, exactly which model i am unsure. The complaint is that the battery only last him 1.5 hours of films streamed over wifi.

If you have movie files you can copy them straight to the surface, or use the sd card slot.


like any other pc / laptop really, although you will be a bit more limited on what video codecs you have available, although most stuff theses days in is h263 or wmv anyway.

Ok thanks very much, battery isn't such an issue as it's for when I have power I'm thinking of.


Sorry to ask a stupid question but what exactly is a movie file? I'm afraid I really know nothing about all this. I'd be happy to buy movies especially, like I have a couple from Google play on my mobile. It's really just so I can have a kids film on it when there's no wi fi.

you get streamed films, they just come down the wire, don't get saved, just watched.

then you get file films that take a chunk of storage as it is a file
