I'm looking for a new laptop to replace my old NetBook that no longer holds a charge. It's 6 years old and slow as a week in jail.
I don't mind what operating system it's on. It's main use will be to store my iTunes library, play emulated games on (snes and gameboy games mostly), print the occasional letter, online shop and that's about it.
The budget is £300 stretching to £400.
Thank you

you could always reinstall windows, and buy a battery
There's at least half a dozen similar "new laptop" threads a day, with options!!

Apart from refurbing your Netbook as a backup, this Fujitsu Lifebook AH512 is a relative bargain for £189.99
The problem is that it has a dead pixel on the screen. You'll only know if it bothers you if you take a look at the machine and decide for yourself.
You can return it for a full refund if it does bother.
Only other thing is that I would add another 2GB or RAM. Easily done.
Decent machine in new condition for £200. You don't need more for your usage pattern.0 -
The net book is being recycled for one of my nieces so a new battery is already on order. It's a bit small and id prefer a bigger screen and keyboard, the current one is 11 inches0

This is a decent enough laptop for this price http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/LENOVO-G585-M838QUK_1357291.html
It is not a good choice. Very poor processor.0 -
If you are put off by the dead pixel...
This Fujitsu Lifebook AH512 is currently flying off the shelves @ £229.99
But spend a little more to go for the Second Generation i3 model @ £249.990
