Web Design Resolution Problems

Hi,
I've got a problem.
I use a Widescreen Laptop, and I do some webdesign (using Dreamweaver)
Problem: When the site is designed, and then viewed on a standard monitor (4:3/1024x768) it is all over the place.
I do not really want to learn CSS, so I think the easiest method is to get my laptop to display in 4:3, with stripes down the sides (top to bottom)
However, when I set the resolution to 1024x768 in Control Panel, it just stretches it and it looks silly.
Anyone got any ideas how I can get the laptop to show me a 4:3 image without stretching it.
This way, when it's viewed on a widescreen, it will look funny - better that way than looking strange on a 4:3 (which is still the most popular
)
Cheers,
Sam

Tbh my opinion is don't be so lazy and learn css - you'll end up with your pages looking much better in the long run.0

Have you tried removing the sizes from the site as I expect it is stated in pixels? If you change it from pixels to % increments then it should resize properly across a lot of resolutions. Can't remember the exact way as I don't have access to Dreamweaver at work.
