in Crafting
My dd is 6, she is very creative and spends almost every spare minute making something or other!
I want to encourage this as much as I can. So for christmas we have got her a sewing machine and got one of those huge Santa sacks filled with crafting goodies, so she can turn her hand at pretty much anything she wants to make.
We have also got her things such as bracelet making, pottery wheel, klutz fashion design books and things like that.
This is her main present (she doesn't play with toys, so will have a limited amount). Does anyone know of any good crafting sites aimed at children? Or even books? It's just to give her a few ideas to get her started?
In the sack there is paper, embellishments, pencils, glues, glitters, ribbons, fabrics, googly eyes, pipe cleaners and the like, felts, card, crepe paper, wool, modelling clay, plain canvasses and loads more. I've put it together in the hope that nothing will be missing if she wants to do something
Is there anything you can think of that I should put in also?

YouTube, with a grownup near enough to see what's being searched. Brilliant at How To make all sorts of things.
As for books, my lads bought several (pricey) tomes from Hobbycraft which jumpstarted the imagination & had a "how to" section at the back.
We also went to a mill museum & one son had a go with a spinning wheel, while the other two preferred carding wool. (I just need one to want to knit & we're set to go from sheep to sock!) Add a day out to anywhere skills are in use & on display?0 -
