Moved house & less people - How do I know my usage?

Hi all

I have just moved from a 3 bedroom house with 4 adults in to a 2 bedroom flat with 2 adults in. I was using nPower with a dual fuel online tariff paying £90 a month. The new flat is using British Gas for gas & SSE for electric.

Obviously I don't know what my usage will be with less people in a smaller property & I don't have access to the previous occupants bills.

The question is, how do I know who the best supplier & tariff will be?

Unless the 2 adults you have 'lost' were massive (ab)users then that wouldn't affect usage too much (i.e. house would be heated regardless of number of 1,2,3 or 4 people, tv for 2 is still for same for 1 person)...

Property size and insulation efficiency have a greater impact. But if this winter is colder than before then all that goes out the window too..

So if you could budget (but pay slightly less) than what you used before - you may over budget,, but at least wont be shocked with a big bill in spring..

Hi, £90 / month for a 3 bed house with 4 adults is pretty low....so if you budget for about the same in your smaller property you probably won't be far out.
