dental issues

Some white fillings are not done on NHS, does anyone know the rules as to which teeth qualify? I know the front teeth are included of course but the back ones.. not sure .

I require one, and i agree it will look better as it can been seen when smiling :D but been told it must be done as a private charge, any idea of cost as he didnt tell me.

Ask the dentist who is going to do it how much , depends on so many factors its pointless to ask it here. Do not try to argue with him /her it should be included on the NHS , if you are not happy with what they said find another dentist you happy with.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

I had a couple done privately last week. They were replacements of old amalgam fillings which were cracking. Neither was particularly large. They cost £108 each.

Ps. There is no "list" of what's available on the NHS , the only definition existing is "everything needed to secure dental health". Black filling would secure dental health so if you chose something for esthetical pillars you pay for it , only fair. U know the definition is not good and prone to interpretations , I reckon it was done that way purposely not in a nice game of department of health pretending that all can be of superior quality free/subsidised at the point of delivery and universal .

  • I'm a former dental nurse and I believe white fillings are allowed for the first 3 teeth either side, so incisers and canine. In some instances pre molars
  • Thanks Fake smile, I now recall thats what my dentist said.

I dont plan to argue with him - he is very nice lol
  • Dental Issues, dental problems are those which are related to our teeth. It may be bad breath, gum diseases, flossing and professional cleaning is the best way to minimize your risk. Natural bacteria live in your mouth and form plaque. We should go to the dentist for the dental issues.

    Thanks
