Declined credit for mobile

I've been Virgin media customer for 8 years and applied for mobile few weeks ago. They told me my credit rating was so good I could have 3 handsets for my household. However one was all I requested. They could not take £7.99 delivery payment from my card and after I confirmed with my bank there were no issues with my card or funds, Virgin tried again, still no joy. Eventually advised I go to a store and complete transaction there. Chap put through application and it was declined. After 48 hours of him trying to appeal decision on my behalf, he texted me apologising telling me the reason it was declined was that their call centre had did 4 credit searches in 24 hours.
Due to their incompetence, all because of a £7.99 delivery charge they couldn't just add to my monthly bill, I'm concerned this will affect my credit applications to other organisations?

4 credit searches in under 24 hours will most likely effect your ability to obtain a contract phone for at least a month. I'd write to Virgin Media, requesting for three of them to be taken off, however; you said there where only two applications, one online(?), and one in store?0

The four searches will not help your credit rating. It will seem like you are being desperate. I would wait a couple of weeks if not a month or so before you try again. Write to Virgin though and explain you have been a customer and explain how you feel let down because that is how I would be feeling. I would write a complaint because they have affected things for you. Four searches is not going to do you any good that is for sure.0
