Brother printer

Brother printer (DCP 115C) not working - any quick advice, when i send something to print the display is not even saying receiveing data, then i get a message from computer saying error document didint print.

I have bought a new cable & it made no difference, any ideas?, could it be the printer or the computer or the USB port?

Just thought I'd ask here first before i spend several hours trying to figure it out.

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.

    Why not give Brother a call? I had a query a while back when I had a problem with using some photographic paper in my printer & was very impressed by how helpful they are. :T
    The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

    I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
