Barclaycard - Banging Head off Brick Wall

Options
Barclaycard agreed in June that they owed me a PPI repayment. They sent me a cheque, but it was in my maiden name, so I sent it back. At end of July they thanked me for doing so and said I'd receive a cheque "in the next few days". When I hadn't received a cheque around a fortnight later I phoned and was told "it would be quicker to pay you by BACS transfer" and they took my bank details. To cut a very long story short, I'm still waiting for this BACS transfer to happen, 4 months on!!! Paying the money onto my credit card is apparently a necessary part of their repayment process. They've now paid it onto my credit card 3 times!! Having called them regularly in August and September, I'm now resigned to only calling them once a fortnight as I'm told they can only "escalate" matters once every 14 days. Well, the number of times they've said they've escalated it already, it must be with their Chief Exec by now. I really need this money and don't know what else to do. Can anyone provide any tips...??

  • You could have "escalated" it already by writing to the Chief Executive directly.

Yea I would write t them and advise that you want the payment alter to reflect the additional wait that you have had to wait.
  • Oh.. just come on here myself to vent off a bit and see that someone has already done the same with a very similar story!!

Had PPI refund agreed by letter after getting FOS involved. Had to send copy of marriage certificate along with letter in the own addressed envelope, as when starting all this it was 2 years ago and now i'm married, thought it would complicate matters!! Probably stupid of me to expect it to run smoothly but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt... 7 weeks later still no cheque so rung, spoke to nice lady who said best way to deal with it was go to my nearest Barclays and get a personal banker person 'certifity' my marriage certificate and send photocopies via internal mail. Job done, even spoke to another advisor on the phone while i was there saying 'all good'... 2 and a half weeks later, still no cheque just phoned again now to check everything recieved ok, which it had but that hadn't done anything about it at all!! woman said she would send details to payment dept.. oh come on!! why hadn't they done that anyway.. so bl**dy angry, its been like 3 months now and still no money.. its my money effectively.. grr and double GRRRRRrrrrrr!!

Whats the email of the CEO? while i'm in the right mood perhaps i should chase him up?
